In mid-February 2022, the BASt has already certified the third calibration stand at TERRATEST in Oranienburg.
Thus, TERRATEST was again able to significantly reduce the turnaround times of re-calibrations, especially during the peak season from December to April. According to the test specification TP BF-StB Part B8.4, a light drop weight tester for determining the bearing capacity of soils must be recalibrated once a year at a calibration center approved by the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt). A lightweight drop weight tester is recalibrated at TERRATEST within a maximum of three days, for which other manufacturers quite officially need at least four weeks according to their own website. "We are pleased about the trouble-free certification of our third calibration stand in Oranienburg," says Dr. Bernhard Korsch, head of the calibration center at TERRATEST. "This will again significantly reduce our customers' waiting times, because we know that a lightweight drop-weight tester is quickly needed back on site."
