Rising Stem Gate Valves
Rising Stem Gate Valves have threads on the outside of the valve body. The gate stem moves up when the valve opens. Rising stem valves are usually made of cast or forged steel, while non-rising stem valves are more commonly brass, bronze or cast iron.
This way you can visually track how open the valve is. For a rising stem gate valve, it is easy to tell whether the valve is open or closed by looking at the exposure of the valve stem. If the handle is flush with the pipe (no stem exposed), the valve is closed. The valve opens if a large amount of the stem is exposed
Rising stem valve is characterised as having either a rising or a non-rising stem and are produced at HY Valves according to Korea standard KS B2350, and it can also according to DIN 3204 and DIN 3216 standards. Rising stem provides a visual indication of valve position. Non-rising stem gate valves are used where vertical space is limited. Gate valves must be used as fully open or fully closed position where the vibration does not exist in the system. As they are designed as this purpose gate valves are not suited for regulating flow.
HY Gate Valves can be produced with indicator, rising or non-rising stem, draining plug in GG25, GGG40, GGG40.
Rising Stem Gate Valves Features
Ductile iron body and discs are highly impact and tensile resistant
Full bore design ensures minimal pressure loss and increased energy efficiency
Maintenance-free valve design
Fully EPDM curing wedges remain completely stopped flow and can absorb smaller particles in the flow.
Stainless steel stem, threaded for high strength
Maintenance-free and corrosion-resistant multi-stem O-rings ensure greater durability
Brass wedge nuts provide stem retention and low torque.
No risk of corrosion due to isolation bonnet nut
Use in both directions. Can be installed on horizontal and vertical pipes with different flow directions
Fixed wedge structure to prevent vibration
Precision machined stem ensures low torque requirements during operation
Body and discs are fully coated inside and out with an average thickness of 250 microns. Higher coating thicknesses are available when required.
WRAS-approved coatings available on request to meet hygienic requirements for potable water applications
For larger size valves, balanced positioning of the lifting holes on the valve body facilitates transport and installation
Suitable for vacuum conditions
Suitable for closure and isolation purposes. Not suitable for regulatory purposes
Electric actuator connection is done through the middle top flange arrangement
Suitable for above ground applications. Operates with handwheels, gearboxes, actuators and spindles
