First of all, we can determine the amount of liquid nitrogen in the bottle by weighing the empty bottle when we get the Dewar bottle, and then weighing it again after filling it with liquid nitrogen, and subtracting the total weight of liquid nitrogen. After that, weigh the bottle every 3-5 days to find out how much liquid nitrogen is left, but this method is time consuming and usually not taken. The second method is to take a solid wooden stick, mark the scale on the stick and put it into the Dewar bottle, and the position of the frost after removing it is the height of the liquid nitrogen in the bottle. Another way is TianChi's alarm, which is usually used in laboratories. The probe is placed above the sample in the carrying bucket or basket, and the alarm will be activated when the liquid nitrogen drops to the probe position, which is convenient and accurate to know the liquid nitrogen height. However, due to the price of the alarm, it is usually easier and faster to use the second method, but it is necessary to take protective measures to prevent frostbite.
