IPU: Powerful industrial PC for automated 3D evaluations

All 3D sensors from the Micro-Epsilon product portfolio can be connected to the Industrial Performance Unit and efficiently put into operation. These include the scanCONTROL laser scanner, the surfaceCONTROL 3D snapshot sensor and the reflectCONTROL 3D sensor. The IPU offers full compatibility and inline capability in the application.

With the IPU, Micro-Epsilon offers a powerful 3D sensor portfolio consisting of a high-precision sensor, the powerful Industrial Performance Unit, and the 3DInspect software installed on it, which is easy to use. This allows numerous 3D measurement tasks to be solved in an efficient manner. The sensors can be used flexibly and provide true 3D evaluations for diffuse-reflective, shiny and many other surfaces.

The 3D sensors are connected to the IPU via the GigE Vision standard. Thanks to the included 3DInspect software with Valid3D technology, simple sensor parameterization is possible, allowing measurement to start immediately. The 3D data is processed directly on the Industrial Performance Unit, evaluated via 3DInspect and assessed. The integrated PROFINET, EthernNet/IP and Modbus/TCP interfaces are available for outputting the results.

The hardware is industrially optimized and equipped with passive cooling. The compact unit also requires little space. Thus, integration into a control cabinet or mounting directly in the machine is easily possible. Accessories such as monitor, mouse or keyboard can also be connected to the IPU.
