KARL MAYER at the JEC Composites Show 2011, 29-31.03.2011, Paris - KARL MAYER Textilmaschinenfabrik GmbH

KARL MAYER Malimo produces multiaxial machines and weft-insertion tricot machines for the efficient production of high-quality reinforcing textiles, particularly from glass and carbon. Taking part in the JEC Composites is therefore a must for the Saxon KARL MAYER subsidiary. KARL MAYER Malimo will once more be showing the Malitronic® Multiaxial with its unique efficiency profile at the JEC Composites Show 2011. In addition to this efficient high-tech machine the visitors can expect high-value, graphic patterns, an extensive range of information and competent advice. A further focus of attention will be the new Wefttronic® RS. Compared to its predecessor, this weft-insertion raschel machine has a working width which is 600 mm greater. The speed, accuracy and operating comfort remain the same. The complete reworking of the machine results in products with a width of up to 6,800 mm. Visitors can get information about this from the KARL MAYER stand also. However, the famous textile machine manufacturer is not only a part of the production chain, but also a user of the composites. KARL MAYER is increasingly integrating carbon-fibre- reinforced composites in its machines in order to improve the performance and technical level of its products. A competence centre was set up for this in 2008. In-house carbon-fibre-reinforced composites specialists are developing system-integral, easily-adaptable solutions on the basis of fibre-reinforced plastics – outdoor interests as well. Components which are ready to go into production, with integral functionality, complex structures, a profile length of up to 7 m, specific thermal expansion coefficients and a plug-and-play design open up new opportunities regarding industrial applications.
