GEDA inaugurates new production and despatch hall - GEDA Dechentreiter GmbH & Co. KG

Sincespring 2012 construction work has been progressing at full speed on a new production and despatch hall. Seven months after the first spade hit the ground GEDA has completed the building work at the Asbach-Bäumenheim site. The hall which is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities started operations as planned at the end of November. The building has created the necessary capacity for the rapidly increasing demand in the big lift sector. In future lifts from the SH and PH product ranges will be produced in the new hall and prepared for despatch. Whether for chemical plants, cement works, cooling towers or bridge pylons big GEDA equipment is used wherever heavy loads have to be transported to extensive heights – up to 400 metres. The 3,300 m² hall is equipped with state-of-the-art production technologies. Specifically in the project business lifts must often comply with very high documentation standards. The devices are manufactured specifically according to customer needs. For instance the hall also houses a special 14.5 metre high test tower with five test stations which can be used to execute comprehensive tests through to the customer's final acceptance of the lift. In order to guarantee an ideal materials flow and an efficient production process, the structure is subdivided into different areas. Almost half the hall is used as a materials store with the adjacent despatch department from where the completed lifts are despatched to all regions of the world. The meeting, training and exhibition rooms are integrated into the first floor and have a lot of space for constructive collaboration, customer visits and mutual information exchanges. The second floor houses an archive. GEDA managing director Johann Sailer is optimistic about the future. "This investment was necessary so that we can continue to comply with high quality and production standards and also to meet the increasing demand also on an international level. The new hall will enable us to service our customers requiring big lifts and who operate in the project business even faster. We want to retain our market leadership position and we see great potential here."
